Festivals & Competitions

Performing at Festivals

At Lenvon Stars of Tomorrow, we are proud to enter students into local and national dance festivals throughout the year. These events provide a unique opportunity for our dancers to perform on stage in front of new audiences, gain real performance experience, and showcase the skills they have developed during lessons. Participating in festivals also allows students to experience the excitement of live performance in a professional setting, helping to build confidence and stage presence.

Elite Squad

Our Elite Festival Team trains on Saturdays after regular lessons, finishing at 12.30pm. This team represents the school at a high standard and may perform in solos, duets, trios, or group routines. Being selected for this team is both an exciting opportunity and a responsibility. It allows students to challenge themselves, take pride in their performances, and contribute to the school’s reputation at competitions and festivals.

Selection & Commitment

Students are chosen by their teachers when they feel the student is ready for the Festival Team. Selection is based on ability, potential, and dedication to dance. Once chosen, students are expected to show 100% commitment by attending every rehearsal and class. Commitment also includes focusing fully during lessons, working collaboratively with peers, and maintaining a positive and professional attitude at all times.

Practicing

To achieve the best results, students are encouraged to continue practicing at home, and they can request their festival music at any time to rehearse with. Within the studio, students also have the chance to practice in different areas, giving them space to focus on routines, refine solos, duets, or group pieces, and make the most of their festival preparation. This flexibility allows each dancer to work efficiently and feel confident in their performance.

GCSE Support

Many of our students use festival performances as part of their GCSE Dance or Performing Arts coursework. Festival routines can be recorded and submitted to count towards exam assessment, helping students meet their coursework requirements while performing in a real-world environment. This provides a unique opportunity to combine high-level performance with academic achievement, making festival participation both fun and purposeful.

Beyond Competition

Participating in festivals helps dancers grow in confidence, resilience, and stage presence, while also fostering a deeper love for dance. The experience of performing, collaborating with peers, and preparing routines for a live audience contributes to both personal and artistic growth, helping students develop skills they can carry forward into every aspect of their performing arts journey.

Friendships

Festivals are about more than just competition — they are a wonderful way for students to build friendships and strengthen team spirit. Working together in a supportive environment, dancers encourage each other, share experiences, and celebrate achievements together. Many students find that the friendships formed during festival season are some of the most memorable and lasting parts of their time at Lenvon.
